1. It is widely published that almost all hypnosis relies on self-hypnosis. Therefore, if you have the ability to self-hypnotize, you should respond to the induction and deepener process as if you are self-hypnotizing, while allowing me, the hypnotist, to be your guide.

2. You generally seek hypno because you want to be tranced! If you want something pleasurable to happen, you will make an effort to mentally empower it to happen.

3. We all crave altered states of consciousness. Don’t you want to feel relaxed, feel your breathing naturally slow down, experience seductive sexual arousal, etc. Hypnosis allows you to experience an altered state and the inherent pleasure it brings you without risk.

4. People don’t want to fail tests, so when I give you a hypnosis suggestibility test, you want to pass!

So please read the instructions for the test before you close your eyes. Now you will utilize your imagination and picture a red balloon attached to a string wrapped around your left wrist. This balloon is filled with helium, which is lighter than air, so the balloon is pulling your wrist up, up, up. And there is a red brick tied to a string wrapped around your right wrist and this brick is so heavy, it is pulling your wrist down, down, down. Imagine this, your left wrist is being pulled up and your right wrist is being pulled down. Imagine for about a minute. Now open your eyes and look at your arms. Is the left arm higher than the right? Then you are a perfect candidate for hypnosis.
